Check your settings under File-->Options-->Save

ususally it is set to save every xx minutes.. I'm unsure if Office 2013 are clever enough to disable when you are idle and enable again when you start typing.

Hi vishu goyal,

Based on your description, have you ever tried to open it in safe mode? I suggest you open the file in safe mode and check if it works fine.

You said you have checked the auto recover setting in save option. Did you check the Auto Recover file location? Is the file you are working on located on your startup volume, a network volume or some other storage device?

If the file location has been changed, I suggest you set it as the default location.

The default location is as follows:

Drive:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel

Please try this method and could you be a bit more precise explain your problem so that we can get more accurate solutions to this problem.
